Color by Sum Game and a FREEBIE!

Click on the picture to take a look at Color by Sum: Back to School Version on Teacher's Notebook.Click HERE to see it on Teachers Pay Teachers.

We're getting ready for back to school!  Today, my soon-to-be kindergartener and first grader played a color by sum game from my Color by Sum: Back to School pack.  This set has 3 different versions of play:  1. find the sum of 2 numbers, 2. find the sum of 3 numbers, and 3. find the sum of 2 numbers plus 10.  Students take turns coloring the sums until one of them finishes coloring all of the numbered areas.

I like these games because:

* The games work well as a math center activity.
* They cover several Common Core Standards for math in K-2.
* You can keep them on-hand as extra whole group practice.
* They provide really fun practice for your students!

So, I thought it would be great to provide a few of these for FREE!  Just click on the picture below to grab a set.

I am just thrilled to be revising my old (yet very useful) sets of sight word books.  So happy that I had to add a new set, too!  So take a look at my Sight Words for Back to School (Paste, Trace, & Write), just click on the picture above.

I like this set because . . .

1.  Students glue, trace, and write each sight word 3 or 4 times.
2.  The text is repetitive.
3.  Unfamiliar words come with an adorable picture clue!
4.  These are great to add to student reading folders, for guided reading, to send home, or as literacy center activities.
5.  In addition to reading, students can practice gluing AND fine motor skills!
6.  The books also offer a little bit of handwriting practice.

Click HERE to find it in my Teachers Pay Teachers store.

Take a look at this set!  It covers ALL of the Common Core Standards for first grade math. As you know, I love activities that combine more than one subject or activity.  In this case, it's MATH AND FINE MOTOR SKILLS.  My students can always use more fine motor and gluing  practice.  How about yours?

This 53-page set has a cowboy/cowgirl theme, so it CAN BE USED AT ANY TIME OF THE YEAR.  Plus, since I'm not sure which concepts you are covering when, everything from counting to subtraction is covered.

This set addresses the following concepts for first grade math . . .

ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION (within 20, two-digits +/- one-digit, two-digit +/- a multiple of ten)
NUMBERS TO 120
PLACE VALUE (adding multiples of 10, plus and minus 10, the teens)
ORDER, COMPARE, AND MEASURE OBJECTS BY LENGTH
TIME TO THE HOUR AND HALF-HOUR
REPRESENT DATA WITH UP TO 3 CATEGORIES

and more!

THIS IS A GREAT, GO-TO SET FOR SEVERAL REASONS. . .

1.  Once you have finished the entire set, your students have covered ALL of the Common Core Standards for first grade math.
2.  The pages make easy assessments.
3.  It's easy to keep track of which pages have been completed or sent home.  You could even put them into a workbook for each student!
4.  This workbook also makes an engaging math center activity.  Once students have finished a few of the pages, they understand the basic directions.  Many students can complete the pages on their own with minimal help.
5.  Morning Work!
6.  These pages are great time-fillers in a pinch!  Just have a set handy in case another project/subject is finished early.
7.  Which brings us to the "early finishers" board!
8.  These are also wonderful, straight-forward homework pages!
9.  The pages can even be added to math journals.
10. Since there is cutting, gluing, and coloring, students have FUN with this set!
