Planning a penguin unit?  These math and literacy pages would be a great addition!  We have been using them at home and in the classroom, meeting Common Core Standards with a little bit of fine motor work, too!

I found that so many of my students the last few years lacked solid fine motor skills!  My own kids have to help mommy cut coupons (actually a highly coveted job in my house), so the "kid" scissors get a lot of use.  However, I have spoken to many parents over the years who rarely let their child use even safety scissors at home.  So, I try to give students more opportunities to use scissors at school!

I like it that these activities are "self-checking."  Each page has a limited number of answers (sometimes an extra number or two to make students think).  Therefore, students usually realize an earlier mistake when they have no correct answer left.  Plus, these pages have a limited number of questions/blanks/fill-ins.  Students who need extra practice find them manageable.  They also work well for students who are reluctant writers since only about  half of the pages require writing.  Plus, they also work as homework pages or sub activities!

Try a few of these cut-and-glue math and literacy activities and see what you think!  Click on the picture below to download a FREE set of 2 math and 2 literacy penguin-themed pages.

Let me know what you think!
